JFK Jr.'s Bash a Socko ShowIt started out like a birthday ball but wound up one helluva brawl, shortly after 4 a.m. when John F. Kennedy Jr.'s 18th birthday party broke up at the very private Le Club on E. 55th St. It was also sister Caroline's 21st birthday celebration, and the Kennedy clan gathererd from all over at the invitation of Jackie O. But like the rest of the older crowd, Jackie left early with Secretary of State Vance, Sen.Ted Kennedy, the Smiths, the Lawford's, the Plimptons - just after midnight. They missed the exit of John and his pals. Zap! Pow! Crunch! A donnybrook! As photogs set their lenses, a burly buddy of John came out of Le Club and snarled, "Okay, no pictures. I'm giving everybody fair warning!" Out came John, wearing dark glasses. The photogs snapped away. The big guy starts punching and kicking. Suddenly, everybody's pushing. John winds up flat on the sidewalk."Stop!" yells John and pleads for calm. Caroline sneaks off in a cab while nobody's looking. Man, what a party! You shoulda been there. As tempers soar in the cold air, John grabs pal by the puss. Copyright 2000 by Daily News LP. For more photographs visit www.dailynewspix.com.

Letting go of his mother's hand, John F. Kennedy Jr. (he did not like the nickname John-John, a media invention) salutes his father's flag-draped casket as it passes on November 25, 1963 -- the boy's third birthday. Behind JFK's son is Robert Kennedy; Ted Kennedy is on the other side of Jackie, behind young Caroline, who was about to turn six.
